Punta Larga Winery

After dropping Lolita and Fernando off at the airport, we caught the bus from Bogota to Sogamoso around 7:30 AM, which put us into Sogamoso around 12:00. We checked into our hotel room, then headed out for some lunch and a walk around the city. For lunch, Alejandro had lengua (tongue) and Cassie had bistec al caballo (steak with a fried egg on top). Each came with a soup and a juice. The total bill was less than $5.

Following lunch, we hopped on a bus to take us to a nearby winery called Punta Larga. We had a quick tasting of two different wines, then bought a bottle and hung out on their beautiful patio to spend the afternoon and watch the sunset. We can’t say it was the best wine in the world, but it was decent.

We took a bus back into town and headed back to the hostel to work on the blog. Since we had a late lunch, we just had some of our leftover fruit for dinner.
