We slept in this morning then had our included breakfast of fried arepas and eggs at 9am. At 10:30, we left for our daily adventure to the waterfalls.
The boat ride was a little bit foggy, but things cleared up when we arrived at our first set of waterfalls/swimming holes, called Las 3 Marias. It is a set of 10 different linked falls each leading into their own pools. We walked our way to the top, then worked our way down by a combination of jumping and sliding. It was beautiful! The last one had a hole, that had an archway leading into the ocean. It was crazy how much warmer the ocean water was than the spring water.
We spent some time hanging out there, then headed on to the next secluded spot on the tour where 2 separate waterfalls exist.
The first one we stopped at came down this HUGE curved rock. You could get under the curve of the rock and feel the cold splashing water on your head while you swam through the (relatively) warmer ocean water. It was crazy!
Once we got tired of the first waterfall we had the option to do the short swim over to the second of the falls. After all that excitement even Alejandro braved the ocean crossing and made it all the way swimming to the other side! This waterfall also started high up but actually landed over some rocks instead of the water itself. There was a rope you could take to climb up onto the rocks and again find yourself getting pounded by the downcoming water. To get back in there was also a rock you could simply dive off of and get back into the water. So much fun swimming around in all this natural beauty! And the best part of all is that we were the only people around to enjoy the scene.

After this tiring day out it was time to lounge about and do some reading. Since we had skipped lunch as we had been out on our adventure we had a few snacks instead- empanada de huevo and some arepa balls. Yum!
Not much else exciting today other than walking around the beautiful location the hostel is located in. Once it got dark we also tried again to go swimming with the bioluminescence but unfortunately this time a big lightning storm started just about as we came out so we decided to head back. Good night!
