We had a pretty relaxing morning this morning waiting for the fog to clear up. We had been told about the Sunday market by the man that owned the hostel, so we went to check it out midmorning. There were so many different fruits, we may have gone a little crazy!

From left to right, top to bottom, we tried sapote, achotillo (rambutan), guaba, babaco, mamay, and guanabana. We really liked pretty much all of it, though this kind of mamay wasn’t as good as the one we had in Huaraz.

Right as we were about to leave to go hiking, it started raining, so we headed back inside to wait out the worst of it and left around 2:30. We hikied up to a couple miradors and enjoyed the more tropical plants.

After our hike, we found some empanadas verdes (empanadas with green plantains) filled with chicken and cheese that were super yummy, then we tried one more thing that had been on our list- churrasco- which was essentially a cut of meat with 2 fried eggs and avocados.
