We got up early this morning and headed to the airport for the flight to Ushuaia. We caught the sunrise on the way!

Uneventful trip (luckily) with some great views out the window around landing time.

Ushuaia is beautiful, surrounded by mountains on the Beagle Channel. This part of the trip is technically the first day of our all-inclusive Anarctic cruise package, so we had transfer arranged to our hotel. The hotel is on a hill overlooking the city, and we had great views from our window.

From the hotel, there was a short hike to multiple viewpoints of the mountains and the channel.
After the hike, we caught the shuttle into town for dinner- we tried out another tasting menu, which was also very yummy.
We got a beautiful view of the (nearly) full moon from our window once we got back to the hotel.

This will be our last post for a while. We leave midday tomorrow for our 8 day Antarctica Cruise, and we won’t have internet connection while we are there, so we’ll update next time we get a chance but don’t expect much the next few days. Until next time!
Great pictures.
Great gastronomic food.
Have a good navigating passage through the Estrecho de Magallanes.
Looking for pictures in the Antarctic once you get back to “tierra firme”

I’m surprised that it wasn’t cooler in Ushuaia…Alejandro has on shorts! The southern most point of Argentina, and the southern most part of South America, should be colder, shouldn’t it? Hope you are having a great time on the Stuart Crossing!
