Day 40 (2/10)- Trekking Continued

This morning, we had eggs and banana bread for breakfast. We remembered to take some pictures of the house that we ate in.

Back on the trail for day 3. Lucky for us again, the sun came out! First stop was the Garganta del Diablo. This one actually looked like the Devil’s mouth. Sometimes it is possible to climb inside, but there was a little too much water this time.

We couldn’t get over how beautiful the crater and the scenery was.

We hiked up out of the crater to a beautiful viewpoint of the mountains and then down to a town called Quila Quila where the bus met us with some veggie sandwiches and salad, then we took off back to Sucre.

We checked into our new hostel then headed out for dinner. Our balcony looked out onto the street and we could also hear the start of the Carnaval festivities!

We tried 3 more of the local specialties. The first was called leche de tigre, which is a drink with milk, cinnamon, singani, and coconut that is made for festivals- it was delicious, like desert! Our entrees were Chicken Sajta and Chicken Picante, which were both spicy chicken dishes.

The rest of the night was spent doing some onward trip planning.
