Day 14 – Pucon and Hydrospeeding

Getting to Pucon was exhausting… The overnight bus plan was to leave Osorno for Temuco at midnight, get there at 3:30am and take the 5:30 am bus to Pucon. No problem! The only issue was when the 5:30 bus never showed up… And with no one working at the terminal office yet we didn’t know if we missed it or what happened!

Fortunately there was a bus which stopped by at 7am, scooped us up, and we were able to get a bit of rest until 9am when we were dropped off at our new city, Pucon, where we arrived at this hostel (the best one we’ve stayed at so far due to both amenities, but also the staff is amazing):

And of course, we couldn’t waste a day without doing anything (despite the somewhat lack of sleep) so we decided to do Hydrospeeding! Neither one of us had ever heard of this before previously, but it sounded awesome, so we did it. Again with more wetsuits:

But this time the activity involved getting in the river, another class 2-4 rapids, and holding on to a floaty thingy which holds up the top half of your body, and then you attack the rapids as you would if you were on a kayak or raft instead!

I would definitely recommend this to anyone else interested. Unfortunately not sure if there are any easily accessible places that offer it, and none in the US apparently, which only forced us to do it here since we may not have a chance later!

After all the excitment, finally got to bed and we both slept like babies.
