Today we got up early to head out towards San Gil. On the map it looked like it should only take about 3 hours, though we didn’t have many bus route options, so ours was going to take more like 5-6. It ended up taking a full 7 hours to get there! Very frustrating… Oh well. The only bright spot was the Cabro con Peppetoria that we had for lunch (goat meat with a side of seasoned rice mixed with goat innards and blood; we found out what this was after the fact or else may have skipped it), a very typical food from the region. Again, the goat meat was surprisingly delicious, and so was the peppetoria.

Once we got to town it was a bit too late to do any of the activities the town is known for. As such, we simply explored around, did some gift shopping, ate dinner (another bandeja paisa, empanadas, and patacones with hogao), and went to bed to rest up for our adventures tomorrow.
