Lizzie says Adios…

The day finally came when Lizzie had to leave us. Her flight was in the early afternoon so we took a light stroll around town in the morning and had one last fancy coffee before she took off to the airport. Cassie had a “Te de Cafe” or coffee tea; essentially the skin of the beans, which usually gets thrown out, used to make an infusion. It was an interesting concept and actually quite good! Lizzie and Alejandro shared a bottle of cold brew.

After Lizzie left Cassie and Alejandro went back to Salsa Pura for another private, and then group, salsa lesson. Exhausting!

After salsa class we headed to the Teatro Magico del Sabor for dinner. The restaurant/show was started by Chef Michael Lynch, a born Colombian who grew up in the US but relocated back to Cali in his teens. The dinner/show was a mix of stand-up comedy done by the chef, a live cooking show, and an absolutely wonderful tasting menu with top-notch flavors. It was quite an experience.

Lastly, we yet again had to go practice our dancing at La Topa. And to our surprise, this night there was live music! After some dancing, the local band started playing around midnight and was quite fun to listen to!

This turned into an unexpected late night though so we exhaustedly headed to bed before the band finished to rest up before our travels to Popayan the following day.
