We woke up early this morning to get the blood pumping with a strenuous hike/climb up to the Cerro de las Tres Cruces (Mount of the 3 crosses). It was about 1500 ft of elevation gain in a mile with some scrambling required, but it felt good to get to the top and feel the breeze.
After all of the hiking, we felt like we deserved the next thing on our itinerary- food tour! We started out with some street art and learning a little bit of history, then proceeded to the market to try all sorts of things… **deep breath** empanada de chontaduro, Borojo juice, salpicon, guarapo, sancocho de pescado, bagre sudado, yuca con guiso, enrollado, tamal, tons of fruits (lulo, chirimoya, granadilla, tomate de arbol, zapote, guayaba cornilla, guayaba, pitaya, uchuva, curuba, maracuya, uva salvaje, chontaduro, pepa del pan), champu, tamal de pollo, tamal vegetariano, guajado cheese, queso costeno, bocadillo, lulada, and some more local coffee. It was a great way to try all of the local fruits and foods.
After the long morning, we went back to the hostel to relax for a little bit. Lizzie and Cassie went to go get some ice cream from a local place next door that had all sorts of Colombian flavors. Cassie had anon fruit ice cream and chancarina (a mix of corn, sugar, and panela), and Lizzie had chocolate and lulo.

Next stop was a personal salsa lesson at Salsa Pura. We learned a lot! After cleaning up, we headed out to get some dinner at a restaurant called Waunana. It was fantastic! We did a vegetarian tasting menu and split all of the dishes (fruit ceviche, roasted mushrooms, watermelon salad, cheesy plantains, homemade pasta and mushroom risotto, and some local fruit drinks).
When we were on one of the tours, our guide had told us about a free latin jazz show on Wednesday nights at Punto Bare, so we figured we should check it out.
We watched for a little while, but then we felt like practicing our newly found salsa skills, so we headed back to La Topa next door for some dancing.

After a couple hours, we were exhausted and decided to head back home.
