This morning, we caught an early bus to Guatape. It is about a 2 hour trip from Medellin. The bus dropped us off at La Piedra (the rock), which is this huge random rock with great views of the surrounding lake and landscape. Only 675 steps to the top… but definitely worth it!
From the rock, we took a taxi into town, which was beautiful! All of the buildings were painted in such vibrant colors. We grabbed a set menu for lunch, walked around the town, did some shopping, and then hopped on the bus back to Medellin.
For our last night, we went out for a happy hour passion fruit margarita, moscow mule, and mango biche margarita, then to a places called Patacones, that served huge flattened fried plantains with delicious toppings, kind of similar to a pizza but with a super thin crispy plantain crust. Unfortunately, we didn’t take any pictures. We called it an early night because of the long travel day tomorrow.
