Walking Tour Quito

This morning started out with a quest for a camera charger (given our bad luck in having our charger cables stolen). After trying multiple different generic chargers, we finally found one that worked! Now onto more fun things.

We headed out for some lunch. First stop was at a place for fritada, which, it turns out, is basically another word for chicharrones. It was served with corn, mote, potato tortillas, and avocado- all very delicious. We split a plate here, then headed to the market for the rest of lunch.

We headed to a local place with huge portions of fried corvina fish served with concha ceviche. We had a little more room left, so decided to try guatita again (potatoes and peanut sauce mostly, with some pieces of stomach) and chanfaina. After this, we were stuffed.

We walked across the street to the start of another free walking tour. We walked all over old town Quito and back through the market as well. We visted some of the old churches, and got a great view of the Virgin statue over the town. The tour ended late, and we headed back to the hotel after some dinner.
