Miraflores Day 2

We had another chill morning this morning, doing some ongiong trip planning. We had seen some workout equipment on the Malecon yesterday, so we headed down and had another workout by the ocean.

Afterwards, we showered and walked around the city for a little while, before settling on a Mother’s Day lunch buffet at a nearby restaurant called Senorio del Sulco, full of Peruvian classics (some that we had already tried but many that were new to us.) Some of the new things included Octopus with olive sauce, potatoes with a spicy peanut sauce (Papas a la Huancaina and ocopa), clam ceviche, a quinoa walnut apple salad, pork tenderloin with algorrabina sauce, peruvian potatoes with beef jerky, Cau Cau (tripe with potatoes and mint), Seco de Carne a la limena (beef cooked with coriander and chili), Carapulcra (potato with pork, cinammon, anise, chocolate, and wine), and arroz con pollo. They also had a variety of deserts including arroz con leche, flan, lemon bites, chocolate cake with lucuma filling, chocolate cheesecake, apple pie, and lots of others. We stuffed ourselves to the brim with all of the delicious food!

We walked around to another nearby park called Kennedy Park (named after JFK, not really sure why…).

After some people watching there, we headed back to the Malecon for another try at sunset. It was still pretty cloudy but there was a little bit of color at least.

And after almost 3 weeks back into traveling, we finally caught up on the blog!
