To start off the day we headed towards el Rio de la Plata, the large river which gives Buenos Aires it’s port. We didn’t visit the port this time though, instead they have a large nature reserve on an island off the coast where we spent some time walking around instead. Definitely some cool sites, like this water tractor (hadn’t seen one of those before), and a giant palm tree! Also lots of different birds that we could see with binoculars, but unfortunately the camera just wouldn’t cut it.
After that we raced off to do another walking tour. We touched on a lot of the same sites we had seen yesterday but at least gave a lot of context to what we had seen. Very informative and it was nice to hear the backstory for the history of Buenos Aires.
Once we finished the walking tour of the city, it was time to race off to our hotel and get ready for the main event of the day: a tango show! The night included tango lessons before the show so of course we had to participate. We have certificates to prove it!
After the dance class we sat down for dinner before the show started (we had empanada/salad for starters then steak for dinner and flan and ice cream with pears for dessert). Lucky for us we had front row seats for when the lights dimmed and the dancing started. Wow! And for a special surprise, they even took Alejandro up on the stage for a spin!
Overall it was a wonderful night and we’re very happy to have done it.
Buenos Aires a city with a lot to offer. It was wonderful that you did the tango class.
