Day 49 – Back to Argentina!

Made it in to Villazon about 3:30am and hung out at the bus terminal until the sun started coming up (and the border crossing with Argentina opened). As soon as it was time, we walked over and got in line to cross over to La Quiaca, the border town on the Argentine side.

We also enjoyed our last salteñas while we waited, and washed them down with a wonderful hot drink made from quinoa!

From La Quiaca we went straight to the bus station and found a bus that took us down the Quebrada de Humauhaca to a town in the middle of it called Tilcara.

We made it to our final destination somewhere in the mid-late afternoon. Not much time left but to plan our day tomorrow, walk around, and find a place for dinner. We settled on the best rated place (on trip advisor) called El Nuevo Progresso 1917. Had a wonderful meal of llama carpaccio for a starter, then steak, lamb, and of course, wine! (This was our actual check that we received from the restaurant!)
