Day 19- We Arrived In Mendoza!

We reached Santiago a little after 7 am, just in time to walk across the bus terminal for the 8am trip to Mendoza (Argentina again).

Once on the bus they served us “breakfast”, which included the most unique coffee I’ve had before. It came in a tea bag! Definitel

Just let it steep and then I had coffee! Probably not the best coffee ever, but, at the time it got the job done. Brilliant!

We then started the arduous trip through the Andes Mountains, here are some of the views from the bus:

It took us about 7 hours on the voyage, so after the long trip, we did what we have done previously to get to know the cities… walk around! Here is one of the many parks that exist near the city center. Apparently, these were installed after a big earthquake tore down the city in the 1800’s, so people could wait out the next quake safely and away from the buildings.

Now as we walked around we started getting a bit hungry. The only issue is that dinner in Argentina starts SUPER late (at least for us), so, being in Mendoza, we walked by a wine place and decided to stop by for a couple glasses until an appropriate time for dinner.

Once it was an okay time for dinner, we found out the place we had picked out was unfortunately closed for the week (their own vacation? unsure), so we found this place instead. We weren’t dissapointed with the 3 course meal consisting of traditional tablas:

The food was sooo goood… and cheap! Absolutely stuffed for $35 US total, including tax, tip, and the bottle of wine! Great way to end the night and head to bed.
