Turns out it is hard not to be active in Pucon, so even on our last day before our overnight bus left at 8pm, we decided to head to one of the highly recommended hikes, Cerro San Sebastian in Parque Nacional Huerquehue. We got up early (though not as early as for the Volcano!) and “checked out”, leaving our things in the provided storage lockers at our hostel. It was slightly nerve racking since the hike was supposed to be 6-8 hours long, and the remote park didn’t have great access/timetables for buses, but we decided to risk it anyway. We caught a public bus to the National Park and arrived at just after 9:30, and the last bus we could catch back to town was at 5:10, which gave us 7 hours of hiking time… Better hurry!
The hike up was very steep, but beautiful. Lots of changes in scenery through a very small amount of time.
We hiked straight to the top without many stops at all, to make sure that we made it in time. Ended up that we arrived at the top in 2.5 hours! We stopped for a few minutes at the top to catch our breath and take in the magnificent views.

After that short break, we started the descent to try to catch the 2:10 bus instead, which we made! That made it a lot more relaxing for us to go back to the hostel and relax for a while before we had to catch our bus at 8 PM. When the day ended, we were on the bus headed for Santiago, before our morning bus to Mendoza.
